My name is Jo Boon and I am founder of the body positive performance arts company, Label. If you enjoy this personal blog you may well also enjoy the magazine I run: www.label-press.com I run this blog along with Gabi who, in all honesty, is far more experienced than I on the subject of living an environmental lifestyle.
The Ethical Wardrobe is a blog to document our journey towards more ethical fashion choices. We will be sharing the wonderful designers we find along the way, and sharing tips for how we can do less damage with the wardrobes we cultivate. As part of this change, we’ll also be attempting more ethical buying patterns in other areas of my life, including our eating habits and the beauty products we buy.
We will be using the #whomademyclothes to connect with others in this movement, although there are many out there campaigning for environmental change. If you haven’t seen the film, The True Cost, yet we cannot recommend it highly enough, as it is one of the factors that greatly influenced our change regarding the fashion industry.
Every person who decides to cultivate a more ethical wardrobe makes a huge difference to the industry, your carbon footprint and the people making our clothes around the world. Do you know where your clothes came from? Do you know what the cost was? Could you make a change in the future? These are questions we should all be asking ourselves.
There is no beauty in the finest cloth if it makes hunger and unhappiness. – Gandhi
